Pretty Murray Harbor

Dear Readers;

What an incredibly sunny day we are having here on the Island. I am making 5 gallons of strawberry jam and the darn thing won't jell so I decided to take a run to Butlers at Murray Harbor for some pectin to help my jam along.

We have a few places that sell our soap so we decided to restock them if they needed restocking. Gord and I were shocked to see that Butlers only had 5 bars of soap left...out of 50!!! Wow...the locals are loving the natural soap. Nice!

We also restocked The Church Bizarre...and here are a few pics.

Gords' new thing is making cheese....which is kind of funny because his nickname when he was a kid was Cheezy. So Cheezy is now making all kinds of cheese with the gallons of milk that we hand milk from our lovely cow Saci.

This is the first stage of cheese making. I did not take pictures of the rest of the process but I will do later on.

Anyways we have a busy...busy day packaging soap for tomorrows Farmers Market....so I had better get going.

Restyling...Revamping

Dear Readers;

I'm revamping my blog and my Facebook...Om-Made Soap so that this all flows better. Also our website where we are trying to sell our soap...sucks...big time because we have no clue what we are doing. Neither of us are techi....:( I am sending out a ..."HELP!!!" I just checked our website and the last person who tried to help us had set the cost of the soap bars at "FREE" hmmmmm....poor clients who look for our soap...they must be completely bewildered. The pictures are boooorring. I just want it to be colourful and simple to use...you know the KISS principle...Keep It Simple Stupid.

I feel that I am leading a few different lives here and it just isn't working for me. I feel that Govindas Farm ought to be the home of Om-Made Soap. Nothing has changed as far as what we are doing but I just want to connect it all so you can see that the soap is a big part of what we do to make money to keep our lovely cows in hay and straw for those freezing cold winter months.

I was very frustrated with the Branding of our soap because it just wasn't representing who we are ...the pictures were so boring. Here are a few brand new pics that I styled and took today. Hope that you like them:)

WWOOFER , Strawberries and a Wedding

Dear Reader;

My husband made this massage oil from patchouli...tea tree and lavender essential oils. I used this oil on my injured elbow and my fingers are recovering very nicely. Before using it ...when I was milking the teats on my cow ...I wasn't sure if I was squeezing my finger or her teat:)

Our volunteer from Switzerland spent one week with us and I hope that her experience was worth it for her. She was a hard worker and one of the fastest soap wrappers on the planet. Liza...definitely tapped into her Swiss Watch heritage! Wow!

Our soap selling season has begun! We were at the Montague Farmers Market and the Queen St. Farmers Market in Charlottetown. The Market in Charlottetown is not only a lot of fun but we also make a few dollars.

We have also finished baking bread for the Buddhist Monks....after 2 years of hard work. It was a good run but we needed to move on and spend more time on our business. We are so grateful for all of the help that they gave us to get us on our feet. Thank you my neighbours and friends!

I'm also making strawberry jam today because I am picking buckets of berries.

Oh..yes...here are a few pictures of my daughter Sitas' wedding to Gord Guild. She is now a married lady:)
